All crinkled and wrinkly, prunes are an excellent source of fiber and iron, and regular consumption has been shown to reduce LDL cholesterol in the blood and bring down blood pressure levels.
According to a study published in the Journal of Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, people who drank prune juice and had 3-6 prunes for breakfast in a period of 2 months had noticeably lower levels of cholesterol and blood pressure compared to those who didn’t.

Prunes are rich in polyphenol antioxidants that are helpful for reducing inflammation and protecting our cells from damage by free radicals. Consumption of them may have positive effects on bone health and may lower our risk of heart disease and diabetes.
